Terms & conditions

These are the rules that govern the use of our site and the contracting of egobytes' services. We've written them in plain language, with no unnecessary fine print.

Acceptance of terms

By using the egobytes site or hiring our services, you accept these terms and conditions. If you do not agree, please do not use the site or hire the services.

Our services

egobytes (operated by Informática Joseph Rodríguez EIRL) offers custom software development, mobile apps, API integrations, e-invoicing, artificial intelligence and tech consulting for clients in Costa Rica, Chile and Latin America.

Proposals and contracting

Each project is governed by a specific proposal or contract defining scope, deliverables, timelines and costs. In case of discrepancy, what is agreed in that proposal prevails over these general terms.

Payments and billing

Payments are made according to the plan or stages agreed in the proposal. Unless otherwise stated, work begins once the first payment is confirmed. Amounts do not include taxes where applicable.

Intellectual property

Upon full payment of the project, the client receives the rights to the software custom-built for them, except for third-party components, open-source libraries or egobytes' own products (such as FacBox, ColeManager or GesLaboral), which are governed by their own licenses.

Confidentiality

We treat the information you share with us to run a project as confidential and do not disclose it to third parties without your authorization, except by legal obligation.

Warranties and liability

We deliver the software with a warranty period for defects attributable to development, as agreed in each proposal. egobytes is not responsible for misuse, third-party modifications, failures of external services or indirect losses.

Support and maintenance

Ongoing support, improvements and maintenance can be included in the project or contracted separately. We offer WhatsApp support and training as agreed.

Cancellation

Either party may end the relationship according to the proposal terms. Work done up to the cancellation date is billed proportionally.

Changes to these terms

We may update these terms at any time. The current version is the one published on this site, with its last-updated date.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of Costa Rica and, where applicable to the client, of Chile. Any dispute will be resolved in good faith between the parties.
